CM: Villarreal begin talks with Milan over Jovic deal – the idea

Luka Jovic has had a difficult few months, but he could be given a route out of it, and Serie A by leaving AC Milan in the coming months.

When Jovic resigned in the summer, the expectations were for him to be a rotational striker. However, this has not been the case, and Paulo Fonseca clearly does not see the Serbian as a valid option in his system.

With Alvaro Morata’s situation unclear before the Lecce game, the Portuguese manager was asked about the striker, and his answer was damning, “Jovic is not a striker with characteristics to do this [play in Morata’s place]. Without Morata, it will be Loftus or Reijnders to do this role.”

Given Milan attempted to part ways with the former Real Madrid striker after re-signing him, it comes as no shock that the Rossoneri will make another attempt during the January mercato, and there is already interest.

As Calciomercato.com suggest, Villarreal have emerged as an option with them seeing the out-of-favour striker as a ‘clear market opportunity’. It is believed that talks between the two clubs have already begun with a loan spell being seen as a favourable outcome, especially considering the Diavolo made attempts to part ways at the end of the summer mercato.

  1. Hi is Abraham back up. And he is actually good in two strikers set up. Also Okafor should be Moratta back up as a SS. Not Loftus. I feel that the only reason Loftus is pushed so much is so the management can say that they didn’t make a mistake when they bought him. Otherwise in any normal situation after so many failed chances Loftus wouldn’t even be considered for the bench, let alone a starter.

    1. Why waste money on him when you already have Jovic and you also have Colombo on loan? David is actually quite similar to Colombo in playing style, so i would rather bring back Colombo next year and us him as a back up to Abraham if Jovic must go.

      1. I dont think David would want to be a back in Inter. Also neither Inter or Milan is a team that is splashing big at the moment. So unless he is on an expiring contract they wont go for him.

    2. He won’t. Why would lille sell their #1 ST in winter? No replacement.
They got a payday for selling yoro and will keep David for this season and use his goals to get into EU spots.

        1. Yeah. And getting chump change is worse for a club than getting into CL games.
I bet my right nut they won’t sell and he isn’t pushing for an exit anyway

  2. Luka is a striker for 442 ot 424, not for 4231…and our idiots will give him away just when we switch from the last to first two… i swear someone messed up this “algorythm bad”

    1. Thats what i was thinking. Didnt he scored 30 something goals in Germany in a two striker system? Why sell him now, when both him and Okafor can thrive in the new system.

  3. sooo luka is not good and abraham who score one time in 6 games(7 after lever) against seria c team is perfect for this sistem? zlatan and fonseca r amaters n shoud go asap.
