CM: Week of renewals for Milan – two-year extension ready for centre-back who has ‘amazed’

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are not just working on the renewal of Franck Kessie but they also have plans to tie down a key defender, according to a report.

Calciomercato.com reports that we are about to enter Milan’s most important week in the current mercato as there will be a meeting with Kessie’s agent for the renewal of his contract expiring in twelve months. Pioli cannot ignore the leadership, the goals and the overwhelming physical power that the Ivorian brings, and he is set to become the highest paid player as a result.

Once Kessie’s contract has been settled, Milan will also start talking to Kjaer’s agent as the Denmark international has ‘amazed everyone’ with his consistency and the quality of his performances.

He also has a big influence in the dressing room which has forced Milan to act, and the initial idea of Massara and Maldini was to extend the current deadline set at 30 June 2022 by one season, but it is not excluded that in the end a two-year agreement will be reached.
