CM: Strong attachment to a ‘second family’ – why Milan are calm about Camarda’s contract

By Oliver Fisher -

Francesco Camarda is the flagship of the AC Milan youth sector, and there is now a lot of talk around when he will sign his first professional contract with the club.

According to Calciomercato.com, Camarda feels very attached to Milan, the club that ‘has always been everything’ to him and a sort of second family given that they are the team he supports and he has spent many years in the academy.

That is why the intention of everyone involved is to move forward together, despite the enquiries received in recent months above all from Borussia Dortmund. Milan have a ‘simple’ mission: to lock him down to a professional contract.

It is simple in words but perhaps not as easy in actions, because a 15-year-old with his numbers always gets people talking about him and naturally attracts interest from the top clubs.

It is unlikely that the contract will be signed by the end of March, both because on the one hand the club want to leave the player alone (some things need to be sorted out with his agents) and because there is a regulatory advantage to postponing things.

In case of signing in July, the contract could be extended until the end of the 2026-27 season, when Camarda will be 19 years old, therefore a three-year deal. If he signed now, however, the contract would last until the summer of 2026.

What Milan are most interested in is that the teenager focuses on scoring goals, growing from game to game and living this moment with the right serenity. For his first professional contract there will be no problems, the club feels safe.
