MN: Still ‘not at risk’ – Conceicao secure for now as Milan fate is decided

Sergio Conceicao’s position at AC Milan has been a topic of heavy speculation in recent weeks, and after the loss to Lazio, the talk has only grown.

In a season where Milan were set to rebuild, Paulo Fonseca failed to bring the team forward after Stefano Pioli, and so far, Conceicao is struggling to show any improvement from either, as the Curva Sud pointed out last night.

The Rossoneri have had all the life sucked from them, and this has led fans to question anyone and everyone, especially the head coach, who has been rather splitting in recent weeks, with the latest instance being when he played the victim after the Bologna game.

Losing to Lazio was a situation which was deemed to be the last chance by reports, and it seems, to a degree, this has been the case.

Milan News wrote this afternoon that the head coach will leave the club in the summer, after the end of the season, though an earlier exit could not be written off if a further collapse occurs.

For now though, no action will be taken and he is ‘not at risk’, so to speak, even if his fate has been decided for the future.

  1. I think it has now been decided. Good start but he did not manage to have an impact and provide continuity.

When they write about things like this that we ha e trust on the coach the real answer is that they don’t

    1. I think its important to note that his “Good Start” was not exactly his doing. He joined the team as we reached a finals, playing off the old system we won a trophy that many attributed to him but in reality we would have won that regardless of who was in charge.

  2. Unbelievable. How many of our players are going to let this idiot clown destroy? It’s obvious that he’s not going to be back next season, all the players hate him. SO why let this continue? Just put in an interim head coach for the rest of the season. Literally anyone would be better.

  3. What do teams that stand in front of us on the chart, all have in common?

    An Italian coach.

We were mocked when we said this team lacks identity with so many foreigners and no Italians. We were mocked after pointing out there were only 2 foreign coaches in last 35 years that were able win the league.

You think this club will get Ricci in the summer? Lmfao, not before and certainly not now when we’re out of CL spots. Watch him go to Inter while we’re stuck with some foregin cheap rip off from Chelsea bench, French or Belgian league. And be entertained by another grotesque, overpriced OffWhite garbage shirt.

  4. While I dont think we should have fired Fonseca as I feel we would be in better positions on both Serie A and CL. I think for the team its best to finish out the year with the current coach as his contract isnt long term anyways. Rebuild in the summer, new top class coach. Sell players or bring in a miracle worker of a coach.

    1. I agree in retrospect but at the time when they fired Fonseca I actually felt relief. Little did I know what was coming…

    2. 100 % agree to this, and should keep him and let Fonseca go this summer.

Fonseca is not good enough for Milan, but with Fonseca, we might still be part of UCL.

  5. De Zerbi was literally out of a job an waiting for a call from Milan this past summer… So was Conte…
Seriously how much worse can a football club be managed?

    1. Conte is already trying to get out of Napoli… What are you going to get out of Conte? One good season maybe before he quits on the team. And that’s only if you have no European play at all. Conte is good for 1 season if you play once a week and have the best roster he can win you a Scudetto. Then it all goes to hell after that.

      1. Given the current state of the club, 1 good season and a scudetto (and the second star) is looking pretty good to me!

    2. Conte is too unpredictable and unstable. He has no problems leaving the team if things don’t go his way.

      We need stability and consistency.

  6. To see a milan starting 11 with no italians is not right, this should never be allowed. Right now some of the best players in serie a are italian. look at the two leading the league in goals. It would have been better to sign kean than morata. We even let go maldini.

  7. He better leave in the summer. Despite most fans wanting him out, I though it was a big mistake to get rid of Pioli. A second place finish with a bunch of new players and defensive injuries was not too shabby. Yes, no big wins, but right now last season is looking pretty good. He also did not lower the value of Theo and Leão.

    1. Yeah i thought Pioli deserves one more season. But the management are stupid. Now we’re here at 9th place and already kicked out from CL with next season we definitely not qualify too 🙁
