Curva Sud have published a strong statement on their social media ahead of tomorrow’s game between AC Milan and Lazio. Indeed, the Rossoneri ultras will not be present at San Siro for the first 15 minutes of the game.
The Curva Sud have made themselves heard previously this season, chanting that Gerry Cardinale needs to sell the club and calling out the players for a lack of proper attitude. Things have not improved, though, and the relationship with the fans has reached a breaking point.
On their Instagram this evening, Curva Sud published a new and strong statement about the situation. In addition to saying that a complete reset will be needed in the summer, they also announced that they won’t be present at San Siro until the 15th minute tomorrow.
“It’s only the beginning of March and our season is already in its final credits, or almost. There are only two derbies left in the Coppa Italia for you to regain a shred of dignity or to definitively certify YOUR total failure.
“Last summer you continued the chain of errors committed in the previous one, extolling choices that were clearly inadequate (and you had been made aware of this several times), ignoring the needs of a team that needed something completely different.
“At the end of January you tried to remedy YOUR mistakes, spending everything you could and should have spent in July, thus renouncing almost all of your summer choices. However, the lack of any type of planning and the unbreathable air you created around Milan, have nipped any type of reaction in the bud.
“The faults of a totally invisible ownership are evident and unjustifiable (Cardinale has not been to Milan since September), which has chosen to eliminate a key figure such as that of the sporting director, fundamental to building a team up to the task and guaranteeing a constant and constructive presence at Milanello, instead entrusting the image of Milan to collaborators who have distinguished themselves only for disguises or interviews that go beyond the ridiculous.
“All this cannot be a justification for the other protagonists of this outrage: The coach, who compared to the previous one, has not changed the team’s attitude on the field by a comma, even accentuating the internal divisions, with the results and the non-game that we all know.
“The players, always supported incessantly until Thursday, were protagonists of indecent matches such as in Zagreb, Rotterdam, Bologna and many others, straightened only at the end thanks to episodes, otherwise today we would be talking about an even heavier balance. Many of them, for performances and attitudes, have shown that they are not worthy of wearing our shirt, in the absolute silence of a complacent and guiltily absent management.
“ON SUNDAY, WE WILL START LEAVING YOU ALONE BY ENTERING THE STANDS ONLY IN THE 15TH MINUTE, HOPE THAT THE REST OF THE STADIUM WILL DO THE SAME. IF WE DO NOT SEE SIGNIFICANT CHANGES IN PERFORMANCE AND ABOVE ALL IN ATTITUDE, WE WILL GET TO THE POINT OF ABANDONING YOU TOTALLY, LEAVING YOU ‘ALONE WITH YOUR SHAME’.
“At the end of the season, a profound corporate RESET will be necessary, the American model proposed up to now has failed from every point of view. Strong choices, important decisions, structural changes with a new command line composed of football men are needed, if we want to seriously rebuild the most glorious club in Italy, bringing the fans back to breathe that Milanism that you have destroyed in recent years.”
Strong words for Cardinale and the Milan management, who need to act accordingly in order to avoid a complete disaster for next season. Any sort of argument that they know what they are doing has certainly been thrown out the window with the current campaign.
Guys, calm down. It is sustainable, and that is the only thing that matters.
Tragically it is not.
Theirs moneyball accounting is on very low position of sustainability without generated money from champions league.
I think Americans did good job at Milan, upgrading revenue from 200 to 300 without European games but now is time to move on…
Moneyball this, moneyball that. You’re late to the party. This has been “debunked” several times already here. Please stop with this nonsense, you’re embarrassing yourself.
What the you mean by guy calm down stop dis bush shit u are writing
They are not coming for witnessing their fave team losing over and over again. Breaking the bad habit is necessary at this moment.
Very well-written. I hope it comes to the point where Curva won’t even show themselves. Because if there’s something Gerry’s most afraid of, it’s bad image.
Hope they still have those “game over” and “insert coin #saveacmilan” banners. Would love to see them again.
Well done Curva Sud, only one President Silvio Berlusconi.
Nothing will change until Cardinale sells the club. Expect more random signings from France or Belgium, or PL benches. A random coaching appointment. More bizarre interviews from “god” and GQ poses from Moncada. No real movement on a stadium. It’s banter 2.0 folks.
That’s right signing PL benches like RLC and raw players from Belgium / french league.. better they signing young Italian players mix with some African like Maldini co did 3 years ago: tonali-bennacer-kessie
A terrible mess. Unsurprising for American ownership.
Not even an Italian player in the starting eleven!!!
I watched Napoli Vs inter match today and I must say Milan need to do a lot of work to catch up with them. This is all thanks to the organisation from the coach and the management. I still can not fathom the substitution being made by our coach. The fear of losing a game is evident from the last two matches. There is no ambition at all from the Milan team. Milan need a good sporting director and coach with clear style of play that would make fans happy.
Nothing will change until this management and this team coexist.
We are so far away from Inter or Napoli !
To watch THIS Milan team it is a waisted time.
Everything looks like an arrangement between management and certain agents to get the maximum profit!
Football is an issue only for the fans.
The Curva is right, WE HAVE TO LEAVE THEM!!
From now on the club and the players have to pay the fans to arrive and attend the game!!
I would do the same as Curva if i spent money to watch bad performance and lost streak.
Gerry and his robots doesn’t understand how to manage Milan. But they keeps destroying what Maldini-Masara-Pioli has build in the last 4 years.
Nothing will change, until owner will be a little be a fan himself.
I’m from Kyiv, Ukraine, and before the war (2014-present) owners of our clubs did everything to make team play well, just like Berlusconi did. And we had wins! Like great Milan we all loved some 20 years ago.
Yes, these persons are far from being angels, but if we are talking football, they were far better, than soulless corporate macho.
Forza Milan
I would like to get on board but the curva is so annoying. The most contradictory organization in sports. If they only had their sh!t together and not be so all over the place they may have had all the fans in their side. They’re just hoping to jump on the current sentiment but people have longer memories than just today.
When Maldini got fired they said to they don’t go into corporate choices now they’re here lambasting the corporate group. The prior summer the lauded the spending saying they couldn’t be more satisfied with the signings. “We haven’t seen Milan making so many good moves in the transfer window in years. We asked for a jump in quality and it’s clear now that the club are taking an approach that couldn’t be more satisfactory” they said. Now only 1.5 transfer windows later the same signings they loved so much are chop Suey? What happened in such a short space of time? It’s because they got bamboozled by Gerry and his cheap shiny toys dangled in their faces and reflective of some of the comments at the time it went down. What they needed to do was seriously as.ssess the true level of those players signed at the time. Not many of them were true leaps in quality (only 1 really). So this is why it is hard to get behind, the lack of foresight.
In Pioli’s last season the literally threw the coach under the bus midseason when we still had things to play for and refused to support the team prior to the second leg Roma tie in Europa. Yet this is the set of fans we’re somehow supposed to get behind and lie to us that they “incessantly” support the team..where was the ‘incessantly’ last year before the second round tie? They only support the team when they see fit. At least now when we’re out of everything I get not showing up.
They also publicly put out a message they wanted Pioli out thus undermining him during all this ( I don’t need to speak of his record with us as he’s one of the best we’ve ever had). They got their wish, then protested against Lope’s potential hiring. And said nothing about Fonseca or Sarge. Again, a real shame. They need to focus and figure out exactly what they want…almost like the same management they criticize.
I understand if they’re protesting the management but their own public messaging has said they liked the players who were signed so I don’t understand why they’re taking away their support for them. Likely these guys have season tickets so it doesn’t matter to the club’s finances (if not then protest by not buying tickets). So all that’s left really is to support the team but show your disgust to management in other ways. But coming out with these hole-filled contradictory statements don’t really do well. I know I’m against the grain here but this group is as disappointing as management themselves.
I only hope AC keep losing this season otherwise the chances of CHANGE won’t happen. The only way Cardinale will feel the pain is losing money and maybe only then things may change … failing this then he will definitely sees his investment perish and will have to capitalise by selling his sinking ship.
