CorSera: Champions League key for Milan renewal as Donnarumma confessed to the ultras

By Isak Möller -

Gigio Donnarumma is currently focused on the final four games of the season, but the renewal continues to cause some issues off the pitch. Just last week, a group of fans confronted him at the training ground.

During this meeting, as reported by Corriere Della Sera (via MilanNews), the key to everything was revealed as Donnarumma stated that he wants to play in the Champions League. The importance of the top-four race is thus very clear, in other words.

If it was up to the goalkeeper himself, he would obviously want to play in the competition with the Rossoneri. However, even if that is his main desire, it’s very different from reality and it remains to be seen how the saga will end.

In the meantime, Milan will take on Juventus tomorrow evening and Donnarumma will surely be looking to put in a good performance. It might be needed for the Rossoneri, as playing at the Allianz Stadium is never easy.
