CorSera: ‘Devastating’ and ‘more confident’ – two under-the-radar positives from Fiorentina win

By Oliver Fisher -

Among the many obvious stand-out performers from Sunday’s 2-0 win over Fiorentina, there were a couple of players whose positive displays have gone under the radar.

In truth the result was never really in doubt the moment that Franck Kessie’s penalty opened up a two-goal advantage, that coming after captain Alessio Romagnoli had headed Milan into a 17th-minute lead.

The result means that the Rossoneri move temporarily five points clear at the top of the table – though that could be trimmed again to three points if Roma beat Napoli on Sunday night.

As this morning’s edition of il Corriere della Sera reports (via MilanNews), many positive signs emerged for Milan with the good performances of the likes of Davide Calabria, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Alessio Romagnoli all highlighted.

However, the paper adds how Alexis Saelemaekers was ‘devastating on the right wing’, while Sandro Tonali appeared ‘more and more confident and clearly growing’.
