CorSera: Emergency returns for Milan as four stars could miss game against ‘furious’ Sassuolo

By Oliver Fisher -

Despite it seeming as though AC Milan were on their way to having full health once again, they have been struck by yet another crisis.

Sassuolo arrive at San Siro tonight and despite all the talk of the Super League it must be remembered that the goal is to reach the top four, and three points against the Neroverdi could allow even more breathing room.

As reported by today’s edition of il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), Sassuolo are furious about the Super League issue and therefore tonight they could have ‘triple the energy’ despite the fact they don’t have much to play for.

Milan meanwhile could be without four starters as Ibrahimovic, Bennacer, Theo Hernandez and Calhanoglu will be evaluated this morning at Milanello and later Pioli will decide whether to call them up or not.

The Swede is struggling with muscle fatigue that could force him to miss the game and Leao would be the centre-forward again in his absence. The Portuguese was decisive in the first leg against Sassuolo when he scored the fastest goal in Serie A history and Milan hope that this precedent bodes well for tonight’s match.

  1. Start Leao at ST and Rebic at SS. Hauge at LW. NOT KRUNIC. Saalemaekers at RW. We have good enough a team to displace Sassuolo.
