CorSera: Europa League to ‘save’ the season of AC Milan – the situation

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan can still turn the season around. It will be difficult to qualify for next season’s Champions League, considering how well the teams above are doing. However, there is one more goal that somehow can ‘save’ the season.

According to today’s edition of Corriere Della Sera (via Milanlive.it), Europa League now becomes the primary target, both for Milan and Napoli. At the moment, Stefano Pioli’s side are just two points away from sixth place.

Furthermore, they are still competing in the Coppa Italia, although it’s difficult to see them knock out Juventus. Obviously, the revenue from the competition isn’t as good as the Champions League, but it would represent a starting point in the plans.

European football is always an argument when trying to sign a player, although many want the bigger competition. That isn’t the case for everyone, though, and it’s certainly better than nothing for the Rossoneri.
