CorSera: Five games to secure Europa League spot – Milan enter crucial season finale

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are about to enter the phase of truth. After a successful start to the resumption, managing to beat the likes of Lazio, Juventus and Roma, the Rossoneri are preparing for what will be a very exciting season finale.

As highlighted by Corriere Della Sera (via MilanNews.it), there are no other mountains to climb for Milan, but a few complicated games. The away clash against Sassuolo and the seemingly impossible encounter with Atalanta are two examples of this.

The best Milan can achieve is the Europa League, but given how the season started, it’s a goal they can’t ignore. They now have five games to secure direct qualification to the competition, avoiding play-offs and subsequently less rest.

Napoli have already secured a spot in the group stage thanks to their Coppa Italia win, so the mission is to finish above Roma. The Giallorossi are currently four points ahead of Stefano Pioli’s side, which is definitely within reach.

Bologna, Sassuolo, Atalanta, Sampdoria and Cagliari: five games (three at San Siro and two away) to really test Milan.
