Sunday evening’s game against Lecce was supposed to mark Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return to the field after overcoming a calf problem, but it did not go as planned.
Ibrahimovic was warming up on the sidelines in the second half just before Stefano Pioli planned to bring him on, but at one point he felt a very sharp pain in his calf and was forced to stop and go back to the changing rooms.

As Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) reports this morning, these are ‘very dark days’ for Zlatan who is ‘very down in the dumps’ after sustaining yet another physical problem this season, and another one in his calf.
For the moment no official communication regarding the extent of his injury has been made, because the player has not yet undergone a scan, but the sensations are not positive at all and it is feared that his season may already be over.
If so, it would be a serious blow for Ibra who is now beginning to seriously reflect on his future. He would like to continue playing but there have been no talks with Milan to talk about a renewal, which in turn is not a priority for Milan.
The Ibrahimovic issue will only be addressed after the end of the season when the player too will perhaps have clearer ideas about what he wants to do, with the new injury perhaps affecting his choice for the summer.
