CorSera: Ibrahimovic aiming for ‘perfect farewell’ with Scudetto win at Milan

By Isak Möller -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will play an important role for AC Milan in the three games that remain of the season, acting as a point of reference for the youngster. The age is taking its toll, though, and this could be his last season.

The Swede has struggled a lot with injuries this season and in order to be available for the remaining games of the season, he’s carrying out a personalised program at Milanello. It says a lot about the situation, but also his importance.

As highlighted by Corriere Della Sera (via MilanNews), his career seems to be coming to an end and winning the Scudetto with Milan would truly be the ‘perfect farewell’ for Ibrahimovic. That’s why he, should they clinch the title, could decide to retire.

Of course, a move to Sweden cannot be ruled out before retirement but the feeling is that Ibrahimovic’s body will oppose that. In any case, this season finale is extremely important for the Swede.

  1. Ibra can stay for 1 more season. Just play 15-20 games would do. 1 game $100000. He would be excellent as 2nd striker or 3rd Amf.

  2. These speculation about Z’s future are so ridiculous. He and only he knows what will happen during the summer. Everyone knows it would be the an awesome way to end his career so writing an article isn’t really “newsworthy”. But then again… The PERFECT farewell would be winning the treble next year and winning the capocannoniere in UCL AND Serie A.

I’m not saying it’s that likely but THAT would be the perfect way to retire.
