Charles De Ketelaere of AC Milan

CorSera: Milan open to sale as Lens, Leipzig and Aston Villa target €35m forward

AC Milan playmaker Charles De Ketelaere is attracting interest from abroad and the club could decide to cash in, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of Corriere della Sera (via PianetaMilan) writes about the situation of De Ketelaere, who could leave Milan in the summer transfer window just a year after his arrival from Club Brugge.

The Belgian was the marquee signing of the post-Scudetto summer window but he has not yet lived up to expectations, failing to score a goal and amassing just one assist in his 40 appearances, 13 of which were starts.

Aston Villa are keen on signing the 22-year-old with Unai Emery and admirer, but the Premier League side are not alone because RC Lens in France and RB Leipzig in Germany have set their sights on De Ketelaere.

Milan seem willing to sell him, but they certainly don’t intend to register a capital loss and thus they must recoup around €28m.

    1. It’s time to push forward, sell him if need be!, Get the money and grab Amrabat and Samardžić for the midfield and drop the cash for BETO.

The management is struggling to deal with a lot of clubs who keep pushing the price up because they hear a rumour that the premier league or Saudi Pro League clubs are after that player.

Buy these players from the Italian clubs, all the players will have a natural desire to play for us as they know from when they play at the SanSiro what we are about and they have seen it and experience it, which is not something this management is currently able to express to potential targets and that with our lack of exposure in CL before last year is also a big factor as to why we keep missing out.

Get it done and let’s not loose more ground on Inter who are apparently in financial crisis freefall but continue to purchase big name players!!, Willing to pay €30m for Lakaku, when they have Laturo, Thurman and Correa!!

      1. I don’t think Amrabat is interested, he will end up at United. You are talking how everyone wants to play for Milan, but naturally players will want to be paid as well. Milan isn’t the club where it will happen, so it is rarely the 1st option (Thuram went to Inter, Calhanoglu also went to Inter etc). It is how it is.

    1. What is dump about selling a total and utter flop? If he had contributed a little bit ok, give him time, but the gap is just too big.

    2. There’s clearly a lack of chemistry between him and Pioli, and most likely his teammates too.
It will be best for both him and the club to part ways now. He can still rejuvenate his career similar to Andre Silva or Paqueta, but his future lies away from Milan unfortunately.

      1. Leao was a flop in his first season. Tonali was a flop in his first season. So, yeah. It is usually a mistake to sell a young talented player especially if he didn’t go through the whole preseason with the team.

        1. Leao first season score 6 goal , compete with rebic & hakan for LW spot . Leao have speed ,drible ,technique. CDK first season 1450 minute playing time 0 goal . Belgium coach u21 cannot help him too. Well nothing more CDK can do as long as pioli still AC Milan coach , he is not suit for high press pioli system . Keep him more one season in bench only reduce his value

  1. GC and his “boys” with their wonderful sense of evaluating talent…. Should stick to tag. They may undestand that “sport”.

  2. I think that it is better to keep CDK for next season,he is a good player who need time to adapt to the way milan play,he is young, remember that leao was not playing well when he join milan,he was given time and now he is one amongst the best in his position in the world, get Chukwueze, the AZ Alkmaar’s player Reijnders,Tarimi or opina there are interested player that milan is trying to get money is the only problem I hope that Theo will not be sold there are other player that are not suitable to play for milan so they have to be sold, milan forever.
