CorSera: Maldini believes in UCL dream – Spurs, Napoli and Bologna games show it

Paolo Maldini believes in the current Champions League run that AC Milan are on, and there are three incidents in particular which show it.

As reported by Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), there is a united within the Milan management and the environment as a whole because there is the feeling that the Champions League path is a great opportunity.

A clear testimony of this ‘common pact’ is the choice to rotate 10 players for the game against Bologna before the second leg against Napoli, put forward by Stefano Pioli and widely supported by Maldini.

During an interview before the game at the Maradona on Tuesday night Maldini made his thoughts clear with regards to the Champions League: “We are Milan. Some trains don’t always pass, you have to catch them on the fly.”

It is not merely a dream but rather because there is ‘self-esteem and awareness’ in the group. Maldini knows what it takes to win the competition having done so five times, and while it is true that history does not take the field, it can help.

We saw an example of this when Maldini defended Leao in the tunnel at half-time in the 4-0 league win over Napoli, and when he delayed the start of the match in London by 15 minutes due to the coach arriving late.
