CorSera: Man Utd linked Calhanoglu wants Milan stay but agent makes things difficult

By Oliver Fisher -

Hakan Calhanoglu has made his desire clear to remain at AC Milan and renew his deal but his agent is proving to be a tough negotiator.

According to Sunday’s edition of il Corriere della Sera (via MilanLive), Calhanoglu’s will is quite clear: the Turkey international is happy at Milan, has found continuity and feels an integral part of Stefano Pioli’s team, so he wishes to extend his stay beyond the expiry of his current contract in June 2021.

That is a good starting point for the negotiation from Milan’s point of view, but they will still have to satisfy his agent Gordon Stipic, who has apparently asked for a net salary of €6m per year (a big increase from the current €2.5m) to extend for four years.

Milan are not so convinced at the moment that they can pay that amount, as the target of CEO Ivan Gazidis is to lower huge wages as much as possible, so the situation is therefore blocked at the moment.

As a result Stipic is ready to propose his client around Europe, and Calciomercato.com recently linked Man Utd, Arsenal, Juventus and Inter with the Turkey international.
