CorSera: Messias suffers injury setback and is at risk of missing 6+ games

By Oliver Fisher -

It seems AC Milan cannot go a week without suffering another injury problem to content with, and Junior Messias is the latest man to encounter a problem.

Calciomercato.com and MilanNews among other sources broke the news yesterday that Messias is on the sidelines again due to a new muscle strain, adding that a follow-up exam is scheduled in ten days, which certainly suggests he will miss the matches against Hellas Verona, Porto and Bologna.

This morning’s edition of il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) writes that the MRI scan he underwent showed a lesion of the rectus femoris muscle of the left thigh, a problem that will keep Messias out of action for three weeks approximately.

From that information, we can deduce that he might actually miss the next six games including two in the Champions League against Porto, with the derby early in November potentially the return date to aim for.

  1. Since Messias and Florenzi injured, our RW and AMC is thin. Pioli should start using 433 with Diaz and Saele back to back on RW.

  2. Something seriously wrong with Milan fitness trainers and their medical staff. Jesus, 80% of injuries are off court during training. Ridiculous.
