CorSera: Milan re-ignite interest in midfielder as Chelsea consider lowering demands

By Isak Möller -

The potential return of Tiemoué Bakayoko to Milan is a hypothesis that hasn’t been completely scrapped yet. In fact, the midfielder is still on the wish list of the Rossoneri management, a report claims.

The Frenchman was on loan at Milan during 2018/19 season and did very well, but the Rossoneri ultimately decided not to pay the hefty buy-out clause. Instead, Bakayoko ended up back at Monaco on loan.

The recent success of Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer as the midfield tandem seemed to have shut the door to a return for Bakayoko. Furthermore, the economic demands of Chelsea and the player haven’t helped thus far.

However, according to Corriere Della Sera (via Milanlive.it), the hypothesis is still alive. The Blues want to sell the midfielder outright and may even lower their demands, while Bakayoko is pushing for a move to the Rossoneri.

In addition to the 25-year-old, Milan are also following Florentino Luis of Benfica, but the idea of reuniting with the Chelsea man tickles a lot.
