CorSera: Newcastle have offered €10m more in Botman race – Milan’s stance

By Isak Möller -

Sven Botman has been linked with AC Milan for many months now and although he looked like a done deal a while back, that isn’t the case now. In fact, Newcastle could be the winners in the battle.

Milan are looking for a centre-back to replace Alessio Romagnoli and Botman has always been the primary target, given his characteristics. However, the competition from Newcastle is becoming a problem for the Rossoneri.

According to Corriere Della Sera (via MilanNews), the English side have offered €10m more than Milan, who have tabled a €30m offer. As a result of this, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have decided to focus on Gleison Bremer instead.

They are not expected to include Tommaso Pobega in a deal for the Brazilian, but it seems Botman is no longer the first choice. The next few weeks should provide more clarity on the matter, also because Lille’s financial situation (and decisions to be made) hasn’t made things easier.
