CorSera: Optimism filters over Kessie’s renewal as Elliott Management approve raised bid

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan seem to be moving towards securing the renewal of Franck Kessie as they cannot afford to lose another member of the starting XI for nothing.

After Donnarumma and Calhanoglu decided to depart for PSG and Inter respectively, the Milan management have no intention of losing another pillar of the team, especially without receiving a transfer fee. For this reason Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will do everything to convince Franck Kessie to stay, according to il Corriere della Sera (via MilanLive).

Elliott Management have given the go-ahead to the technical area to discuss the extension of the midfielder’s contract, getting as close as possible to the required amount. Kessie will be involved in the Olympics with the Ivory Coast, and is asking for €6m net per year to renew, while the current offer is €5.5m from the Rossoneri.

Next week the Rossoneri leadership will meet George Atangana, the agent of Kessie, with the aim of closing the deal there and then. Entering next season with his future already resolved would of course be a big boost.
