CorSera: Pioli and Milan rediscover identity but lose two key pieces in the process

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan managed to get all three points in the capital on Sunday night, beating Roma 2-1 in what was a crucial victory in the top four race.

The Rossoneri consolidated their position in second place in the table by moving onto 52 points with a 2-1 win, stretching their lead above Roma to eight points in the process as Franck Kessie and Ante Rebic scored.

As this morning’s edition of il Corriere della Sera writes (via MilanNews), the enthusiasm after the win at the Olimpico has been dampened a bit by the news that has come from the treatment room as Pioli has lost two pieces in one fell swoop.

Ibrahimovic and Calhanoglu are both out with muscle problems and the worst news concerns the Swede, who will have to remain in the pits due to an adductor injury, missing between two and three weeks. Once again, the Rossoneri must find a way to cope without two talismen.
