CorSera: Talks opened over renewal of Maldini and Massara but not Moncada

By Oliver Fisher -

These are decisive days regarding the renewals of Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara as talks are underway, a report claims.

According to Corriere della Sera (via SempreMilan.it), talks began yesterday between the new ownership RedBird Capital – fronted by founder Gerry Cardinale – and the technical director Paolo Maldini and sporting director Ricky Massara.

Their contracts are due to expire at the end of the month but the aim of all parties is to sign an extension that will bind the duo to the Rossoneri for a few more seasons. Cardinale has no doubts about wanting to keep going with the current management given the success the team are enjoying.

However, the paper makes it clear that these talks do not concern the chief scout Geoffrey Moncada whose contract is not currently expiring, so any talks would be premature. Cardinale’s idea is to allow the management to consolidate their relationship with Milan in view of the first summer window.
