CorSera: Three years and seven different designs – Milan’s stadium project still idle

By Isak Möller -

The stadium debacle continues for AC Milan and Inter, who are awaiting the verdict from the city council from the public debate. Three years since they first presented the project, it remains idle.

Milan and Inter are both eager to build a new stadium and thus capitalise on the revenue opportunities. Compared to other top clubs around the world, the two Milan clubs earn a lot less due to the outdated San Siro stadium (and the fact they don’t own it).

Three years ago, more specifically in September of 2019, Milan and Inter both announced the stadium project for the first time. As highlighted by Corriere Della Sera (via MilanNews), there have since been seven different designs for the project.

This is, of course, due to the many changes that have been demanded by the city council and that number could increase in the coming months. In short, the project remains idle and no one seems to know what is going on.
