AC Milan could sack head coach Gennaro Gattuso regardless of the team qualifies for next season’s Champions League, a report claims.
After a stellar start to 2019, the Rossoneri seemed all set to secure a top-four place and a subsequent return to Europe’s elite club competition.
However, doubts have now emerged over Gattuso according to il Corriere dello Sport, largely due to the fact that Milan have picked up only one point in their last three Serie A games.
There have been many suggestions that Champions League qualification is vital for both the club and for Gattuso’s job, however the Italian paper reports he could be sacked regardless.
Antonio Conte has been heavily linked with taking over at the San Siro, although Inter are also interested in hiring the former Juventus manager.
