CorSport: Agent makes bold request as Milan put first renewal offer on the table

By Isak Möller -

Having struggled to renew the contracts of Gigio Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu, Milan don’t want to make the same mistake again. Therefore, work is underway to renew those who will expire in 2022.

One of these players is Franck Kessie, who has been a key player for the Rossoneri this season. He has played almost every game from start to finish and has also increased his goal contributions, currently at 17 in the league (11 goals, 6 assists).

According to Corriere Dello Sport (via MilanLive), Milan have already made a renewal offer for the midfielder, valued at €3.5m per year until 2025. Kessie earns €2.2m per year in his current deal so it would be a boost.

However, his agent has made a huge request of €6m per year, which is too much for the Rossoneri. In the coming months, therefore, they will work to decrease the distance and reach an agreement that satisfies everyone.

  1. He will reduce for sure. 6M? bring it down to 5M and it’s a done deal imo. Consistent performer unlike Calha. Not a mad deal like Gigio

  2. They’re are all asking for abnormal pay rise because of the greediness of Gigio’s agent,he has really doomed Milan’s project, The fact that they’re agreeing to a goalkeeper who mostly stand to watch the game then they should heed they the players who do running all the time.

  3. We don’t need this soap opera again next season, the management should offer a suitable contract at the end of the season if not accepted then good luck to kessie we can buy him and sign a different player and tonali will get his opportunity to be a starter.

  4. Its better to sell Dollarumma than to sell Kessie. Milan should not accept the 10m request from his agent. Let Dollarumma leave, am sick and tired of him holding us ransome.
