CorSport: Atalanta to move for Milan defender if Rossoneri seal centre-back deal

By Oliver Fisher -

Atalanta are interested in the idea of re-signing Mattia Caldara if Milan get a deal over the line for Jean-Clair Todibo, a report claims.

It was claimed by Calciomercato.com last week that Caldara’s former club reached out to try and gauge whether he would be interested in a return to Bergamo.

They are apparently hoping that the chance to play in the Champions League and working with his old mentor Gian Piero Gasperini would be enough of a temptation.

According to il Corriere dello Sport – as cited by MilanNews.it – the arrival of Todibo would mean that the 25-year-old is no longer be certain to stay.

The Rossoneri believe strongly in the player despite the fact he has made just two appearances for the senior side due to injury, and any business done would have to be a straight up sale whereas La Dea would like to start negotiations from the basis of a loan.
