CorSport: Brahim Diaz divides fanbase but Milan have clear stance

By Isak Möller -

Brahim Diaz’s two-year loan will expire at the end of the season and his future is rather uncertain. Milan, on the other hand, have a clear stance on the future of the Spaniard as was reported this morning.

Diaz is coming off a decent season with seven goals and six assists. He has been rather inconsistent, though, and that’s why some of the Milan fans have voiced concerns lately regarding signing him permanently.

As reported by Corriere Dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan and Diaz are both focused on the remainder of the season currently. However, the Rossoneri will sit down with Real Madrid once it’s done and negotiate the price tag of the playmaker.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are keen on keeping Diaz, just as the latter wants to stay, but they will not pay more than €20m to Real Madrid. A lot will depend on the stubbornness of the Bernabeu side, therefore, as they are currently asking for €25-30m.

  1. I think its fair to ask for 30M. He is only 23 and will progress more. But Milan should not pay that much for him, or even 25M. Or even 20M.
He did not impress enough. 5,6 great games he has a season are not woth the invesment + salary.
122 games and 18 goals. That is a goal every 6.7th game and that is way to low for an AM or a RW
    Numbers dont lie.
If he cant score and assist on a regular basis what good is he as the team playmaker?
Might as well play Maldini, he’ll grow into it, probably

    1. 20M is reasonable though, if you see madness in nowadays market. Leao worth 150mil release clause for below 20 goals a season for LW. Grealish worth 100mil below 10 goals, same goes to Mudryk as well. Even CDK worth 35mil for 0 goal and 1 assist a season. 5,6 great games is better than 0 good game entire season. Numbers dont lie but there are far more unreasonably expensive player with same stats.
Also, it is hard or perhaps almost impossible to find a player that score and assist in regular basis with a cost below 30mil. We are living in PSG, Man City or entire EPL era, where average player could cost more than 50mil. I’d rather spend 20mil for average than 50mil

      1. that is one side of the coin, yes.. overpriced players brin the most attention.. Now if you look at players like Kvara and Lookman for example. One was 11 the other 9 million. Milan got the sanke Hakan on free, he was/is a good AM, better than Diaz.
At the end of the day its all about buying smart.
Buying Diaz, not smart. Signing Kamada on free, smart. All im gonna say
