CorSport: Chelsea midfielder could renew and be loaned for fourth straight season – Milan interested

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan want to sign Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea this summer and could get him back on loan again, according to a report.

Il Corriere dello Sport writes that Milan want to have their midfield in place ahead of next season’s return to the Champions League and there is the talk of potentially getting Bakayoko back to compliment Franck Kessie, Ismael Bennacer and Sandro Tonali.

It would be a fourth consecutive for the Frenchman as he spent the 2018-19 campaign at Milan who chose not to use their €35m option to buy, then he went to Monaco the following season before spending 2020-21 back in Serie A with Napoli.

Bennacer and Kessie will miss a few games when they play in the African Cup of Nations in January, so Pioli would like two more options for the midfield including Tonali. Chelsea will renew Bakayoko’s contract and will keep the decision-making power on the formula, suggesting a loan with option or obligation to buy could be the right one.
