CorSport: Colombo has asked to leave Milan on loan – the situation

By Isak Möller -

Lorenzo Colombo could still leave AC Milan this summer as several clubs have expressed their interest. More importantly, however, the player himself has asked to leave the Rossoneri on a loan deal.

Colombo has featured in all of Milan’s games this pre-season and although he hasn’t found the back of the net, excluding two converted penalties in two shoot-outs, he has impressed Stefano Pioli. In fact, the latter would like to keep the youngster.

According to today’s edition of Corriere Dello Sport, as cited by SempreMilan.it, Colombo has other ideas. He would like to move on loan just like last season, keen on getting playing time rather than being the third choice for Milan.

It remains to be seen how Milan will respond to this. It’s possible that Pioli could speak to the player and provide him with more guarantees, or they could decide to grant his wish and start looking for another striker on the market.

    1. Hate and bias is playing the starting striker of the world cup runners up lol, a striker who outperforms 80 million Vlahovic in Serie A.

  1. Smart man.
At this stage of his career he needs to play regularly, not be the 3rd choice.
I does no one any good keeping Colombo at Milan. Send him on loan where he can play every week

  2. Let him go. He’s not committed to Milan and we can find a better striker who is. Besides that he hasn’t shown much.

    1. This most likely is due to Pioli and not to do with his “commitment”. Boy wants to play. Could have seen what happened to Gabbia and didn’t want the same career path.

      1. Gabbia is mediocre. Colombo just can’t stroll into the team and claim a starting spot. Especially when he is slower than Giroud. Some of you lot need a reality check.

  3. Remember when young players were just grateful to be playing at the best club in the world and tried to push themselves into the starting line up by scoring goals every chance they got? Ahh the good old days…
