CorSport: Free transfer key as Milan could pay €40m+ for Leipzig striker Sesko

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are already making plans for next season as some important reinforcement are expected in the summer. The two main priorities appear to be the centre-back and striker positions, with two key targets identified.

Olivier Giroud has done very well for the Rossoneri this season, bagging 12 goals and 9 assists, but he could leave in the summer. And even if he ends up saying, Milan want to future-proof themselves by bringing in a striker.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), the two main priorities are the centre-back and the striker positions. Lloyd Kelly, whose contract will expire in the summer, has been identified for the latter but Milan will have to try very hard as the competition is fierce.

For the No.9 role, the Rossoneri have seemingly taken their eyes off Jonathan David for now, more keen on RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko. He has a release clause of €50m but could perhaps leave for a fee in the region of €40m.

The Kelly negotiations could be key to Milan’s pursuit of Sesko as a free transfer would free up some more cash for the striker position. Nevertheless, Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada are set to make some important investments.

    1. First thing ill agree with you on flyingturtle 😂 keep it simple, we need a striker and a cdm and that’s a successful winter window, given no one important is sold.

  1. Just get sesko and a good young DM and we are good to go.

If Leao and maignan are sold then get this AC Monza GK. Di Gregorio and make Nava and Reyvere the back ups.

Get a good left winger like murdyk of Chelsea or florian wirtz

  2. I am very excited with Sesco. He is my favorite from all the other targets we have, because he is more of a Giroud type of forward. But I don’t see anywhere articles for DM witch is a position than we really need reinforcement.

  3. no Milan at this moment need a back up full back for theo. The team needs s new right back. Then a striker and a defensive Midfielder.

The team will most likely sell to fund the new season. I believe everyone knows that GK and Leoa are potentially going to leave. In either case I hope this summer won’t be slowed down because the team needs to get a new manger and the club hasn’t signed one until really late in the season.

  4. Inter Miami are in advanced talks for Federico Redondo and are likely to close the transfer at 8 million dollars. A young talented DM prospect we could have for peanuts.

Seems this management and Pioli aren’t looking for a DM at all.

  5. The CBs that Milan has for next season are Tomori, Thiaw, Gabbia, and Kalulu, but for some reason, people think that we don’t need another CB. Haven’t you learn anything from the injury problems this season?
    Milan absolutely needs another CB.
This is like going back in the summer of ’22 when people were also saying that we don’t need CB because we got Tomori and Kalulu. The summer of ’22 was the last time Kalulu was good. Okafor snatched his soul vs Salzburg and Kalulu was never the same after that.
Milan absolutely needs another CB, especially left footed.

    1. forgot Pellegrino and if they renew Kjaer we dont need a cb. If they dont renew him Kelly on free is fine, no need to buy one… Besides, does a team need 8 cbs just in case there are injuries? 4-5 is enough

      1. I don’t see Milan renewing Kjaer. It seems like that’s a chapter that will close, and it’s likely either Kalulu or Pellegrino will be sold I think. Perhaps both.

So yeah, I see why in the end we may need another CB.
