CorSport: Ibrahimovic has burning desire to make his mark against Porto as Pioli faces dilemma

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is determined to make his mark in the Champions League over five years after his last goal in the competition.

Ibrahimovic came on in the closing stages of the Rossoneri’s 3-2 comeback win over Hellas Verona, completing his return from Achilles inflammation, and now il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive) writes that the Swede is ready for the Champions League after missing the Liverpool and Atletico Madrid games

Ibrahimovic has not played the Champions League as a protagonist for a long time with his last appearance in the competition back in November 2017 during Manchester United’s trip to Basel and his last goal coming in April 2016 against Manchester City in the quarter-finals for PSG.

It is not yet certain whether Ibra will start from the first minute against Porto or if he will still come off the bench, but it is clear he is battling with Olivier Giroud for a place. Pioli will decide only today after training whether to rely on Ibrahimovic’s mad desire or to use the Frenchman again.
