CorSport: Ibrahimovic’s condition could change Milan’s plans as two experienced strikers could arrive

AC Milan could be forced to sign two strikers this summer depending on how Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s recovery develops, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive) writes that Milan would be obliged to acquire not one but two centre-forwards if Ibrahimovic needs surgery and then has a long time on the sidelines. Therefore, in addition to Olivier Giroud – the Rossoneri’s first choice target – Maldini is on the hunt for another striker so as not to be unprepared.

The paper adds that it will not be a young profile either as Stefano Pioli needs two experienced strikers and cannot rely on a forward with potential who needs time to mature. A substantial investment would therefore be required to purchase another viable option for the No.9 role.

Roma’s Edin Dzeko is an option but only as an alternative to Giroud. Andrea Belotti could be the perfect investment as per the source, but it will take €25m to sign him and in this case the competition from Roma is a major obstacle.
