CorSport: From De Ketelaere to Rebic – Pioli ponders forward solutions for Milan

By Isak Möller -

Divock Origi missed the game against Liverpool due to an injury and his presence against Salernitana is now also in doubt. As a result, Stefano Pioli has been left with a tough decision for the game.

Olivier Giroud is currently on international duty with France, along with Theo Hernandez, and he will have 10-15 days of vacation afterwards. Therefore, he will only return just before the game against Salernitana.

Amid Origi’s injury, as reported by Corriere Dello Sport (via MilanNews), Pioli could be forced to field Giroud straight away but it’s not ideal. The options, therefore, include starting Ante Rebic or Charles De Ketelaere in that position.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return will undoubtedly be important for the Rossoneri, but they will have to wait until at least the end of January by the looks of it. Pioli, therefore, has to make a tough decision for the Salernitana clash: risk Giroud getting injured or start a makeshift solution?
