CorSport: Maldini and Gazidis engage in non-belligerence pact before season end

By Oliver Fisher -

For months at there has been talk of a fracture at Milan, of different visions, even of internal discussions that would have split the management.

The Rossoneri seem destined to undergo yet another revolution ahead of the 2020-21 season, one likely to be led by Ralf Rangnick, but for now the current coaching staff have an important job to do.

Sunday’s edition of newspaper il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive) underlines how the entire Rossoneri management have appeared compact and united at Milanello in recent training sessions.

Paolo Maldini, Ricky Massara and Ivan Gazidis visited the team on Friday, encouraging them in view of the resumption of the Serie A season.

The three will also be present at the ‘Via del Mare’ in Lecce for the game against Lecce on Monday night, again showing full unity in search of a Europe League spot.

A sort of non-belligerence pact between Maldini and Gazidis has appeared just in view of the season finale, also in order not to negatively affect Milan’s morale and performance.

In August, however, it will be time for choices and verdicts, and another ‘Year Zero’ appears on the horizon.
