CorSport: Milan must convince Primavera star to stay at Arsenal and Man City circle

By Oliver Fisher -

Francesco Camarda will turn 16 over the weekend and AC Milan are hoping to tie him down to a contract extension soon, but there is a risk in the background.

As Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) report this morning, Camarda – who has scored 12 goals in 29 games for the Primavera this season – can in fact sign his first professional contract on Sunday 10 March, when he will turn 16.

However, that doesn’t mean he will. Until a few weeks ago everything suggested that Camarda would sign a renewal with Milan without any problems but there are some big clubs lurking who want to try and sign him, which is not surprising given his numbers.

Inter have enquired and are big admirers, though Camarda grew up a Milan fan so making that switch seems almost impossible. Premier League giants Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham have not only obtained information, but have also sent scouts to see him and have the economic capacity to offer a big contract.

From Sunday Camarda will be free – if he wants – to sign with whoever. Milan meanwhile are planning to propose the 15-year-old a three-year renewal (the maximum allowed for under-age players) which would begin on July 1, making it valid until June 2027 instead of 2026.
