CorSport: Milan close to landing No.1 January target – Champions League bonuses the key

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have always had Mohamed Simakan as their number one target and bonuses could help secure his arrival, a report claims.

As Pietro Balzano Prota told us earlier yesterday, there has been an attempt to from RB Leipzig to enter the race, but there is nothing doing and the Rossoneri are pushing to close the deal.

The player’s message on his Instagram story is enigmatic, while the feelings are “positive”, and the “done deal” could come at any moment, also considering Milan’s willingness to make any new arrivals available to Pioli as soon as possible.

According to il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan are ready to close their first winter purchase in Simakan, who has always been the first choice target to reinforce the defence.

The Rossoneri already have a general agreement with the player for a five-year contract, while they still have to file the final details to reach an agreement with the French club. The feeling is that the deal can be closed halfway between the request of Strasbourg (€20m) and the offer of Milan (€15m), thanks to the inclusion of bonuses linked to qualification for the Champions League.
