CorSport: Milan eye €25m Spain starlet; Man Utd saw late bid rejected

AC Milan are reportedly interested in signing Dinamo Zagreb star Dani Olmo as doubts over a deal for Angel Correa grow.

Correa seems to be the Rossoneri’s primary attacking target as Paolo Maldini, Ricky Massara and the rest of the leadership aim to give Marco Giampaolo a support striker/trequartista to work with.

We recently revealed that personal terms have been agreed with the Argentine – who wants to leave Atletico Madrid – but Milan’s tactic appears to be patience due to a current €10m difference between the clubs over a transfer fee.

It was suggested on Sunday that Ante Rebic is the alternative to Correa, while interestingly Bruno Fernandes has also been mentioned as a target.

Meanwhile, il Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan.it) are reporting that Milan’s plab B in case of disappointment in the pursuit of Correa is Dani Olmo.

The Spaniard – who was part of the U21 side that won the European Championships this summer – has been linked with a move to San Siro since the start of the summer.

The player’s agent Marko Naletilić confirmed Milan’s interest back in December, and the player has directly addressed the speculation in June by admitting he is flattered by the rumours.

The report adds that Dinamo Zagreb are ‘puzzled by the fact that no English club has been in touch’ before their window closed last Thursday.

The demand of the Croatian side is €25million for a player that has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United, who reportedly saw a late bid rejected.
