CorSport: Milan in contact with agent of potential Paqueta replacement

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are maintaining contact with the agent of Angel Correa despite failing to sign him this summer, a report claims.

Correa was the Rossoneri’s first choice to reinforce the attack as we revealed on multiple occasions through our mercato expert Vito Angele, with personal terms having even been agreed.

La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira reported that Milan were preparing one last attempted to sign him before the window shut.

Despite this, a deal was never close, and in the end Milan completed the signing of Ante Rebic from Eintracht Frankfurt on a two-year loan deal on deadline day instead.

As per il Corriere dello Sport though, the Rossoneri hierarchy have continued their ‘excellent relationship’ with Correa’s agent Agustin Jimenez, something which suggests the track to his clients could be open in January.

Another player managed by Jimenez is Rodrigo De Paul, and the report adds that Marco Giampaolo could sanction a move for the Udinese star if Lucas Paqueta fails to impress him as a central midfielder.
