CorSport: Milan monitoring Sevilla and Lille stars ahead of the summer

By Ben Dixon -

There has to be a vast amount of analysis done by AC Milan regarding their next striker. Rumours have linked the club with a new number 9 for some time, and it seems the upcoming summer mercato will be the time to act.

There are currently several uncertainties about Milan on and off the pitch. Even with the current striker options, there are question marks.

Firstly, Olivier Giroud’s situation remains in the air – the Rossoneri have offered their stipulations for a new deal, which would require him to accept less playing time, but Giroud is tempted by options abroad. Then, there is Luka Jovic, who can have his deal renewed, but there are no guarantees about this.

The only guarantee is that the Diavolo will look to sign a new 9 in the summer market.

There have been several names linked to the post, most notably Joshua Zirkzee and Benjamin Sesko, whom the club both admire heavily. However, Corriere dello Sport (via Radio Rossonera) report that the Diavolo remain interested in Jonathan David and Youssef En-Nesyri.

The Candian has ‘already been given the OK for a transfer’ by his current club – so a move may be possible. Alternatively, Milan may make another approach for the Moroccan striker, who they attempted to make a move for at the end of last summer.

  1. David is not worth what they’re demanding, especially in the form he’s had. En nesyri could be a shout tho, he definitely has the size and the footwork to be effective
