AC Milan have not given up on the idea of re-signing Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, a report claims, and they have hatched a plan.
The Rossoneri have been repeatedly linked with an attempt to seal a reunion with Bakayoko after his successful loan spell at the club under Gennaro Gattuso in the 2018-19 season.
He has been occasionally mentioned as a potential midfield target for the upcoming summer window, but MilanNews reported last night how the Frenchman is one of two options being considered to reinforce the midfield, with the other being Benfica’s Florentino Luis.
According to il Corriere dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com), the Rossoneri are indeed keen on finally bringing the 26-year-old back to the San Siro once the transfer window reopens, but not as soon as possible.
Instead, the strategy is to wait for the end of the market hoping that Chelsea will lower their demands, making the deal economically advantageous. The player, for his part, has never hidden his desire to return.
