Costacurta believes Rangnick ‘wants to join’ Milan but reveals why he may be hesitant

By Oliver Fisher -

Former AC Milan defender Alessandro Costacurta believes that Ralf Rangnick is waiting for more guarantees from the club before joining.

There continues to be an abundance of speculation in the media claiming that Rangnick will be the man to lead Milan on a new youth-oriented project.

SportMediaset are reporting that Milan and Rangnick are getting closer and closer to finding a total agreement which would see him become the new head coach and director.

The German is ready to fly to London for a decisive meeting with Elliott Management’s Gordon Singer and could do so in the next week, and in this summit the final details would be ironed out.

During an interview with Sky Italia, Costacurta was asked about his thoughts on the Rangnick rumours and whether the appointment would happen.

“Rangnick wants to decide, now there are too many people who make decisions at Milan,” he said (via MilanNews).

“He wants to join and the only thing he wants is to make the decisions. Those who have passed in recent years have often complained about this and therefore Rangnick, before saying yes to Milan, wants to be sure of having a specific weight.”
