Costacurta believes the struggle could extend past the table if Milan lose vs. Juventus

Things look bleak for AC Milan’s Scudetto hopes, but a win on Saturday could change that. Billy Costacurta has expressed his worry if the result does not go in their favour, though.

The current situation at Milan is difficult to fully analyse. In many respects, the building blocks are there for success to be built, and key principles are in place to move forward as time progresses under Paulo Fonseca.

Alternatively, the situation can be viewed as the squad having had some welcomed anomalies in between heaps of sub-par results. For this reason, accurately reviewing the season so far is difficult, because you can argue both sides are correct in some areas.

Whichever side you find yourself on, the facts are this. A six-point gap currently differentiates the Rossoneri and Juventus, a gap which must close by Saturday night, because if it doesn’t larger problems could emerge.

Speaking to Lalaziosiamonoi.it (via Milan News), he stated that he would be worried about the squad’s mental state if the gap were to extend this weekend.

“It will be a very important match. If the distances were to increase, Milan could go into psychological difficulty, because it would not be easy to recover points with the many teams that are ahead. Juve are calmer in this aspect, they are improving with Thiago Motta, and they are a lively, young, entertaining team. Milan must aim at not losing.”

  1. Why would we loose to Juve 🤣
It will be a draw cuz they park the bus or we will win easy. We have better players on every position. No one in Juve will get a start att Milan.

    1. Better wait for match or it can be like with Cagliari where we all awaiting easy match and then we suffer 3 goals… I’m curious, it will be interesting to watch what they want to play and how we will play against “stronger ” team
