GdS: Crisis in attack averted – Giroud, Messias and even Origi could all be there vs. Udinese

By Oliver Fisher -

With the game against Udinese on Saturday fast approaching, Stefano Pioli is beginning to get more of an idea of the players he will be able to call upon.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes how there was talk an emergency in attack whereby all three of the centre-forwards would be unavailable to face Udinese, but in reality Olivier Giroud will be at Pioli’s disposal Divock Origi might even make the bench.

The Belgian worked for the first time with the rest of the squad during yesterday’s session at Milanello, skipping only the final match, which is great news that testifies how the muscle injury that kept him out for a long time is now behind him. From now to Saturday, Origi will continue training with the group, with the hope of at least being on the bench against Udinese.

Giroud meanwhile did individual work on Tuesday, but between today and Friday at the most he will return to training with the squad, and the Frenchman will then start against Udinese. It is the same story for Junior Messias, who yesterday also worked separately.

  1. Milan’s injury-infested and injury-stricken forwardline suggest alot about an unimaginative management. Let Maldini and Massara give us a youthful, reliable and healthy strikers not old scraps
