AC Milan have announced on their official website that Zapata has suffered a left ankle ligament injury whilst playing for Colombia in the Copa America.
The Colombian defender is expected to undergo the surgery in the coming days, with the recovery time being unknown until further tests after the surgery.

“AC Milan announces that during Copa America, Cristian Zapata suffered a capsular ligament injury in his left ankle.
Today he visited Professor Niek van Dijk in Ansterdam, the player will have to undergo surgery in the coming days.”
