Tuttosport: De Ketelaere set for another important opportunity against Monza

By Oliver Fisher -

Charles De Ketelaere could be given the chance to start in Saturday’s game against Monza at the Brianteo Stadium, a report claims.

The full squad are back in training at Milanello today and the next two training sessions will be decisive in determining Stefano Pioli’s potential selection choices in the view the trip to the north of Lombardy.

Tuttosport (via MilanNews) report that the current feeling is that De Ketelaere should get the nod from the first minute against Monza on Saturday. His last start was in the 5-2 defeat to Sassuolo at the end of January and he was brought off at half-time with the Rossoneri 3-1 down.

He came off the bench and did well against Spurs in the Champions League on Tuesday and could have scored a header, with Pioli hoping the Belgian will follow in the footsteps of Malick Thiaw in showing his qualities after months of waiting.

  1. CDK is low on confidence and Pioli is not making it any better by subbing him at half time against sassuolo when he wasn’t even playing bad. Smh

Hopefully CDK gets over this mental block soon. Adli also needs to find space in the squad. Milan wasted 10m on a player who is not even playing in Serie A or UCL. SMDH

    1. I felt sorry for Adli before his full debut in serie a when i saw the starting 11. He was arguably our best player all pre-season, confident enough to pick the number 7 shirt, the new Belgian kid arrived and that was it . Pioli just primed him for failure in that game and its still affecting him now.
