CM: De Ketelaere’s injury comes at the worst time for Milan and Pioli

The injury that has been suffered by Charles De Ketelaere has come at the worst time for both AC Milan and Stefano Pioli, a report suggests.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, the muscle injury that the Belgian playmaker has suffered means that Pioli has got less options to choose from at a time when the games are coming thick and fast fatigue is setting in for many players.

Milan are already struggling with a long list of injuries and now De Ketelaere is part of it given he missed training at Milanello this morning.

The other factor here is that the injury will stunt the former Club Brugge man’s acclimatisation to Serie A and the club. He is yet to hit the heights that many expected from him yet but it is natural to be still be settling in.

Settling in will be made much harder if he has to contend with an injury lay-off.

  1. Hmmmmmm…. real injury or is he just scared he’s going to look awful again v Chelsea?. I hope that isn’t the case because that would suggest significant mental weakness. Either way here’s to hoping he recovers well and then slowly begins to improve. He will come good I think. Kessie and Leao took almost 3 years so I think we can wait a year or so for cdk no problem. The talent is clear.

The speed is lacking for sure as is the aggression and will/strength when he has the ball but speed can improve a little and strength and will can and will improve a lot under pioli with guys like Maldini Ibra and Kjaer here.

  2. I blame our coach for all this muscel problems bcoz he uses the same players week in week out. if CDK has been rotating with Adli he wouldn’t hv been injured now. The same with Theo, Kajer and Calabria injuries. He need to improve his squad management. Every yr around this time w hv alot of players injured

    1. Great. Another genius who blame Pioli and thinks rotating players will magically banished injuries, but forgot the tight schedule and players who injured in UEFA Nations League 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

  3. He started almost every games. He need rest league matches and let Aldi play from start and diaz as sub or in reverse. So he can regain energy and avoid injury I like this one….

  4. Everyone is impressed with CDK so far. The problem is that it is not enough. He has the skill, he has the physical attributes and he has the team around him, he just needs time. He also needs to get himself involved a bit more. We saw how quickly someone like Kvaratshkelia immediately took off, so CDK needs to grab the bull by the horns and take control of games more often. No more ‘one nice bit of skill and then nothing for 15 minutes’. He needs to always be asking for the ball like Diaz.
