GdS: De Ketelaere’s time has come – Pioli is ready to launch his from minute one

By Oliver Fisher -

After being restricted to appearances off the bench in his first two games, Charles De Ketelaere is heading for a spot in the starting line-up against Bologna.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) write how De Ketelaere’s last month was very intense after he closing of what was a seemingly endless negotiation, his arrival in Italy to begin a new life, the first training sessions and friendlies and then immediately the start of the season.

The 21-year-old has already entered the hearts of the Milan fans but a real baptism is still needed, because for now we have only seen bursts of his ability, but that could change on Saturday night against Bologna at San Siro.

De Ketelaere is expected to start against the Rossoblu and although there are several days to go before the game, the indications suggest that head coach Stefano Pioli is expected to finally launch him from the very first minute.

He came on in the first home game against Udinese and showed interesting ideas, and then against Atalanta on Sunday night he could and probably should have had his first assist after a lovely through ball to Sandro Tonali before Musso’s save.

Pioli now has many solutions in the playmaker role when considering Brahim Diaz and Yacine Adli are also fighting for a spot. CDK should not play out wide though, and instead should be inserted as the attacking midfielder in Pioli’s favoured 4-2-3-1.
