QS: Decision expected by Friday as Rangnick lays the gauntlet for Milan – the latest

This week could be crucial for AC Milan’s future, with Ralf Rangnick making his challenge to the club’s management.

It has been almost three weeks since RedBird decided to overhaul Milan and things must be tied up quickly. Indeed, the lack of structure is an issue, especially with the World Cup about to start and decisions needed.

After all, they could fall behind in the planning stage and this could have a substantial impact on their mercato actions…

A big week for Milan

Though everything could change quickly. A contract has essentially been readied for Oliver Glasner, as reports confirmed this morning, but nothing will be finalised until a technical director is in place. This is due to the wishes of Gerry Cardinale and the hope of finding structure.

Quotidiano Sportivo confirmed as much in this morning’s edition, writing that Rangnick has ‘set his stakes’ and will now wait for the American to accept them or not, MilanNews relays. There will be no room for negotiations, with the German clear on his wishes to take on the project.

It must be said that the Austrian coach has already given his yes to the club, rejecting the other approaches from elsewhere. However, he is impatient and wants to start soon. He may not have to wait much longer, though, with a decision expected on Friday…

  1. There is a model, a plan, a way of doing things that does not require reinventing the wheel but rahter just rolling it out. It is either Cardinale buys it or not, or goes elsewhere if he has another plan which we know he doesn’t. Rather believe Rangnick’s convictions (he seems sure of what he can do), since we have not seen such a clearly defined strategy in a while at Milan. Sign them up…

    1. Its that or its same story as before, one year then restart everything from zero. We need stability and structure and this is the only way now

  2. They will never hire someone who demands almost all the sporting influence. It’s the ultimate flaw of this whole Rangnick narrative. Which leaves us with two options: 1) either the clowns are lying to him and giving him false promises, with Zlatan, his what’s-his-name Futuro buddy and Calvelli remaining the true “management”, OR 2) the media is lying to us and such scenario was never a thing.

  3. He wants written guarantee from cardinale. Thats the challenges how far and rangnick teaches us milan management how to manage the club as professional…
