AC Milan appear to have their number one candidate in their grasp, but a move will not be confirmed just yet.
There has been plenty of time for Milan to make a decision about their next head coach since sacking Massimiliano Allegri and in recent days, they have been all over the idea of appointing Oliver Glasner.

Indeed, the Crystal Palace manager has been confirmed to be leaving the South London club for some time now and the Rossoneri are simply waiting to pounce.
Deal ‘ready’ for Glasner
Yesterday, there were suggestions that things were advancing between the parties and Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) writes that a contract is on the table for him. Indeed, Glasner has a two-year deal – with the option of a third – waiting for him at Casa Milan.
It is a similar deal, the report suggests, as what was offered to Allegri last summer in terms of structure and the figures are around the €3-4 million per season bracket, so lower than what his predecessor was on.
However, he has not been appointed just yet, even if the deal is waiting for him. Though, there are no worries about this. Contacts with the Rossoneri have been positive for him, so he has declined the other options.
Waiting for Rangnick
From the Diavolo’s perspective, the reasoning for not confirming him as the new manager is simple. Gerry Cardinale wants to follow a ‘specific process’, which would involve appointing a technical director first.
As the Austrian is a modern coach, who is appreciated by many directors including the first choice Ralf Rangnick, he has no fears about this. It’s a case of strategy and it may still take another week to confirm everything.
Nevertheless, things look good for Glasner’s chances of standing in the Milan technical area next season.
