Denmark coach reveals potential injury problem for Milan defender Kjaer

By Isak Möller -

The international break certainly hasn’t worked out in Milan’s favour with quite a few injuries sustained. Mike Maignan is the biggest blow but there could still be more to come, as hinted by Denmark’s coach.

Maignan suffered a calf injury during a game with France and he will be out for around a month. Sandro Tonali has also experienced discomfort even if his recovery is expected to be shorter, while Theo Hernandez is working at Milanello amid a muscle strain.

During a press conference yesterday, as cited by MilanEye, Denmark coach Kasper Hjulmand revealed an update on Milan defender Simon Kjaer. He stated that the centre-back has experienced ankle discomfort.

“Kjær felt a slight pain in his ankle so we will assess him today. We will not send him home right now. We just landed [back from Croatia]. As things stand we reckon he will be here with us,” he stated.

Hopefully, it’s nothing serious as Milan really need all hands on deck for the upcoming classes (Juventus and Chelsea X2). Playing three at the back has been discussed (depending on Theo’s recovery) and the Rossoneri need Kjaer for that.
