Dest assures he is ‘ready’ for Milan’s clash against Lazio: “I know what to do”

By Isak Möller -

Ahead of the clash between Lazio and AC Milan, set to kick off in 30 minutes, Sergino Dest spoke briefly to the media. The American is in the starting XI due to Theo Hernandez’s injury.

Hernandez is struggling with a minor muscle injury and yesterday, Stefano Pioli decided to exclude him from the squad to avoid making the matter worse. Therefore, Dest is the man starting on the left-hand side this evening.

The American international was interviewed briefly by DAZN (via MilanNews) ahead of kick-off and he stated that he’s ready for the task. Replacing Hernandez isn’t easy for any player, though, especially if your main position isn’t really left-back.

Did Theo give you any advice?

“No, we didn’t talk. I think I know what to do in that position and on both sides, I’m ready.

Milan are desperate to get the win tonight after four games without one. Napoli are doing well at the top and the Rossoneri might have to focus on top four instead, but first and foremost they need to bounce back.

  1. that’s how Tomori’s decline started, yapping with his mouth, before being heavily violated during the match. same here. Do your talking on the pitch, useless player..

  2. Agree with the previous comments,he will not or ever be ready to play in Europe……makes Bakayoko look like a star. As to our play we telegraph our passes, way too slow on counter attack, nobody is in fear of us,no threat whatsoever……we are bullied plain and simple.

  3. I don’t know what game you guys were watching. There is a reason he was kept throughout the game and Leao wasn’t. You can’t blame any goals on him, he actually prevented at least 2 and he was decent offensively.
Leao forgot what pressing meant Kalulu and Kjaer were overrun, Calabria was caught out of possession more often than humanly possible.

This was by no means a good game and their performance was trash across the team but don’t single him out.

    1. “You can’t blame any goals on him”

LOL. Where was he in the 4th goal? Watching close by. And the second? Wow. Now that was some great defending, right? He made Maldini soooooo proud.

    2. “Leao forgot what pressing meant”

Didn’t forget. He just doesn’t want to do that. He doesn’t think defending or even pressing is something he needs to do. He’s the MVP FFS!!! He only needs to focus on attacking as he is the Next Messi. Did you see him shine last night? Again. Oh, you didn’t? No one did. Even Zaccagni looked more of a Messi than yesterday than Leao ever will.

    3. marusic basically ran past him for asist to second goal with no effort.. yeah dest is not to be blamed for that. its the coach and managment for not bringing in a proper full back not this dwarf with zero muscle.. Same goes for Diaz btw, dude gets bullied off the ball way 2 easy
